The annual NERC Arctic Station ‘open day’ will take place on 23 January 2025, from 1030 to 1430. This will be held in the Conference Theatre at the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge and online.
If you are a current user of the NERC station in Ny-Ålesund, or if you are considering applying to use the station in the future or just interested in finding out more about the Station, then we strongly recommend attending this informative event and meeting the team. Registration is free!
Speakers include Dr Iain Rudkin, BAS Arctic Operations Manager, who will give an overview of the NERC Arctic Station, and project talks from Prof Arwyn Edwards, Aberystwyth University, Dr Kevin Newsham, BAS and Dr Cath Waller, Hull University.
Please register to attend via this link
The Station provides excellent facilities and accommodation for researchers from across all UK universities, research institutes and other recognised organisations, and their international collaborators, wanting to carry out a range of environmental research which includes ecological, glacial/periglacial geomorphology, hydrology and atmospheric chemistry and marine research.
Deadline to register to attend in person is 17th January. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided to those who have registered to attend in person. Please note, space is limited and we will have to close in person registration once capacity has been reached.
Deadline to register to attend online is open until 22nd January and the Zoom meeting link will be sent to you by the end of the day on 22nd January.
