Bilateral Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MOU)
The NERC Arctic Office has supported the development of bilateral agreements and related tools to promote better access to funding and infrastructure across Arctic research.
These agreements have included arrangements with the United States with an agreement between NERC and the National Science Foundation, and between the UK and Canada on research and logistical support in the polar regions.
We will continue to focus on supporting the implementation and development of these existing agreements to ensure that they bring practical benefits to UK-based researchers, in addition to looking at the potential for new agreements.
